I am an equity investor as well as a member of both the Danish and Swedish VC associations. However, there is something majorly wrong with the way the entrepreneurial process is taught and practiced … or let’s say how the popular press hypes and twists it.
Of the six million businesses that launched in the U.S. in 2012, only 1,174 received venture capital funding.
Just think of the amount of time and money wasted try to get that VC money. Think of all the time and effort NOT devoted to acquiring customers. I am not going to say that the VC game is a scam … well, maybe I will, but not today.
On top of the lottery-like chance an entrepreneurs has to get VC money, VC’s, themselves are not making any money. I mean the hyped returns of the VC is so far from the truth, it is basically a lie. The VC business model, is broken … if it ever worked at all.
I am convinced that there is a must be a better way for entrepreneurs to go about starting their businesses. There must be a better way for entrepreneurs to grow their businesses.
In fact, there is a better way and I am going to be sharing what it is in writing and video. Stay tuned.
